The Dorman Project

The Dorman Project is dedicated to Israeli-born, U.S.-based composer Avner Dorman, one of the most compelling voices in contemporary music. His fascination with plucked instruments has produced a groundbreaking body of work spanning chamber music and concerto repertoire.

The project brings together Dorman’s major works for mandolin and guitar, including the Mandolin Concerto, Many Waters for mandolin and guitar, the Double Concerto for Mandolin and Guitar and Orchestra, How to Love for guitar and string quartet, and works for domra and guitar.

Rooted in Middle Eastern heritage and shaped by Western classical training, Dorman’s music blends jazz, American, Arabic, and Jewish influences into a powerful modern sound world. This project presents some of the most significant works ever written for mandolin and guitar in the 21st century.
